So, for something slightly different, I thought I’d pop up a little post about the Queen Mary 2 departing Greenock.

This was taken just a few nights ago, and to make things a little bit more challenging, I was actually on the steam paddle ship, “Waverley” watching the QM2 depart.

It was freezing, I was not exactly dressed for how cold it actually turned out to be, and the whole night took an absolute age to get to this point, but it was all worth it in the end.

Someone once said that the best thing you can carry in your camera bag is patience, and on this occasion that was very true!

Thankfully, I spent the remainder of the journey back to Glasgow in the engine room – which is the warmest place on the ship!

If you’ve never been on the Waverley, then put it on your bucket list .. fantastic experience Smile

Susan and Stuart recently got married at Boturich castle, which sits on the bonnie banks of Loch Lomond – yes, cue the music Winking smile

As all of you will know by now, photographers have their own way of seeing things. We all have our own style, and approach to every shot. So, I was particularly flattered when Susan called me to ask if I would cover her big day. Smile

Why? well, she is actually a professional wedding photographer herself. Which adds a strange type of pressure, on top of the normal pressure that comes with the job.

Knowing that each, and every image was going to be scrutinised, not in the normal, expected way, but through the eyes of “another me” made the heart beat that little bit quicker! Broken heart

The location was nothing short of breath taking, and with the added pressure of a rain storm brewing at the end of the Loch, well, the stage was set for some drama Storm cloud

We had to duck and dive showers most of the day, but thankfully, the rain stopped for just long enough for us to grab what we were both hoping for Winking smile

Here are just a few shots from the day …
